The Good Doctor focuses on the consequences of the Doctor dropping in, fixing stuff and moving off. Think The Face of Evil (Tom Baker story) but with loads of companions. This time religion has taken hold, add in a big drop of sexism and racial prejudice, and here’s the results of a previous visit. This plot is not original and I know I’ve read much heavier versions of this storyline, but The Good Doctor is a good romp. For a change, all the characters get something to do, Yaz remembers that she is a trainee police officer and actually does stuff related to her job. Finally!
